Ghanaian hip-hop artist Michael Owusu Addo, known as “Sarkordie” has praised and encouraged Afro-pop Songstress Noella Wiyaala to maintain her unique brand in the music industry after defending her brand in her recent interview.
Wiyaala in an interview said Ghanaians are not appreciating her brand and that has really affected her music career.
She added that Ghana’s music industry is structured in a way that things tend to be hard if an artist fails to ride on trending genres for fame which is a reason why her music career is not progressing faster as expected.
“I’m a tameless lioness so the system (music industry) can’t tame. If you are not doing what the system requires of you, they blacklist you or they pretend and act like that artists don’t exist.
I’m always the last they (event organizers) think of because I’m not doing what can give them money,” she stated honestly.
Wiyaala insisted that she is not going to change her style to suit the masses despite the challenges.
Sarkordie moved by the words of Wiyaala, commented on the issue through his Twitter handle encouraging the artiste not to give up.
“Had same comments coming up girl, but there are things you see that everyone else doesn’t and that’s the thing…they will understand small time your worth is priceless @Wiyaala,” He commented.
