President John Dramani Mahama has visited the Central Business District of Adum in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, following a catastrophic fire that destroyed hundreds of shops early on Friday, March 21.
During his visit, President Mahama interacted directly with affected traders, offering words of comfort and pledging government support to aid in recovery efforts.
He emphasized the importance of swift action to restore the livelihoods of those impacted and urged a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire.
In his discussions, President Mahama highlighted safety concerns, urging traders to refrain from cooking in the market, a practice linked to the use of gas cylinders, which reportedly contributed to the blaze.
