Former President John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to begin a three-day campaign visit of the Central Region from Wednesday, April 10.
The visit, according to the Region’s National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives, forms part of preparations for next year’s polls.
At a press briefing, on Tuesday, the regional Communications Officer, Kwesi Dawood, noted that the visit will see the former president engage party executives, interact with stakeholders and touch base with the grassroots of the party.
He is expected to engage the citizenry in general.
The tour will take the three-time flagbearer to the Awutu Senya East and West, Gomoa East and West, Effutu, Ekumfi, Mfantsiman, Cape Coast North and South and the KEEA constituencies.
He will be the special guest at an education forum, at the University of Cape Coast, to address the state of education in Ghana. It will be hosted by a former Vice Chancellor of that school, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, who served under Mr Mahama as Minister of Education.
The former president beat six others in February to emerge the opposition party’s candidate for the 2020 elections.
