Former President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in the Ashanti Region for the first part of his campaign in the region. Mahama, front-runner in the race to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the 2020 polls, will break the campaign and return to Accra on Friday for the NDC’s 9th National Delegates Congress.
The former president has already taken his campaign to the Central, Upper West, Upper East, Northern, Brong Ahafo and Greater Accra regions. He has been calling for unity in the NDC, promising to strengthen the structures of the party as well as modernise its programmes and activities to address the needs of its members.
Reducing the high cost of living in the country as well as working hard to provide jobs for Ghanaians has also been major talking points for ex-president Mahama during his meetings with delegates.
