Mahama preaches Peace ahead of December 7th elections

Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has called for peace ahead of the 2024 elections.

Speaking at the 4th National Muslim Conference of Ghana, he reiterated his commitment to promoting peace and tranquility in the country.

‘’Ghana is known for its peaceful religious coexistence, we’ve always been the envy of many countries in our sub- region, where peace has eluded them, whether in football or politics even when we disagree, we have always respected each other’s views’’.

According to him, as the country approaches elections, the people should not forget that “peace is fragile and should be treated like an egg, as it cracks, it cannot be put together again without the scars showing”.

He added that, ‘’The peaceful resolution of various conflicts in Yendi is a testimony of our desire for peaceful existence and progress and must never be taken for granted’’.

Mr. Mahama used the occasion to condemn recent election- related violence that has occurred, which he says is troubling.

The 4th National Muslim Conference of Ghana is a gathering aimed at uniting Muslims as well as discussing the development of the Muslim community.
