Mahama calls on NPP government to settle 9 months arrears owned to NABCO trainees

The Flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has called on the Nana Addo-Bawumia government to settle 9 months arrears owed to NABCO trainees.

According to him, the NABCO initiative introduced by the current government employed about hundred thousand trainees who worked for three years but the government has failed to pay their nine months arrears even though NABCO has been dissolved.

Addressing the people of Ayamfuri in Ahafo Region during his campaign tour, the flag bearer emphasized that Dr. Bawumia was bold enough to say that he is not aware that they owe NABCO trainees for nine months and for this reason he is reminding the government that they are owning NABCO trainees so they should settle them.

John Dramani Mahama further indicated that apart from the nine months arrears owned to NABCO trainees, National service personnel and nursing training allowances are also in arrears and they should pay up

“For 30 months, teacher and nursing trainee allowances have not been paid after they promised to do”

“Since the introduction of National service, every successive government has settled their allowances but for six solid months, this government has not been able to pay national service personnel allowances”, he added.

He therefore urged president Akufo-Addo to settle all outstanding allowances as soon as possible.
