The Majority Leader and MP for Bawku Central, Mr. Mahama Ayariga, has expressed his condolences to the family of the soldier who was killed by unknown gunmen in Bawku.
Delivering a statement on the floor of Parliament on Wednesday, March 19, he described the killing as unfortunate and deeply regrettable, emphasizing that no one should condone such acts of violence, especially against security personnel who risk their lives to maintain law and order.
Mr. Ayariga acknowledged the sacrifices made by the deceased officer, noting that he had left his family and duties behind to serve in Bawku, only to meet a tragic end.
He condemned the act and assured the bereaved family of his sympathies and urged law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation to identify and bring to justice those responsible for the soldier’s death.
The MP stressed the need for a peaceful resolution to conflicts in the area, warning that acts of violence would only escalate tensions and lead to further loss of lives.
He called on all stakeholders, including community leaders and security forces, to work together in ensuring justice is served while maintaining peace in Bawku.
