The foundation of the former first lady of the Republic of Ghana, the Lordina Foundation has condemned the lynching of vulnerable 90-year old woman at Kafaba in the Savannah Region.
It could be recalled that, over the week, a widely circulated video indicated how a 90-year old woman was beaten to death because priests accused her of being a witch who is hindering development in the area.
According to the Lordina foundation, such a barbaric act cannot and should not be accepted in our society and called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators of this heinous and inhuman act, in accordance with the laws of the country.
The foundation also added that “the foundation will remain committed to the welfare and protection of the interests of the vulnerable, marginalized and underprivileged in our society, with a focus on children and women. It is that commitment that has ensured our pivotal support for our mothers who have been chased out of their communities and have made the Gambaga ‘Witches’ Camp their new home.”
