Ghanaian athlete Aziz Mohammed emerged as the ‘star’ of the Lone Star Conference Championships, dominating both the 800m and 1500m races.
Mohammed clocked an impressive 1 minute, 48.4 seconds in the 800m, etching his name in the record books as the third-fastest runner in the event’s history for West Texas University (WT).
He continued his stellar performance in the 1500m, securing first place with a time of 3 minutes, 46.3 seconds, the fourth-fastest time ever for WT.
Mohammed’s triumph in the 1500m was particularly convincing, leaving his teammate Louis Moreau a significant 4 seconds behind (3:50.7) to claim second place.
With these outstanding achievements at the Lone Star Conference Championships, Aziz Mohammed has not only showcased his talent but has also set a new standard of excellence in collegiate track and field.
With his sights set on the upcoming Olympic Games, Aziz will be looking to improve on his time in other upcoming events in other to secure a place in Paris for the Games.
