The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr. Patrick Aboagye has disclosed that the government is liaising with some local companies to produce nose masks amidst worldwide shortages.
Addressing the media at the COVID-19 press briefing today he stated, “we’ve had engagements with private industries to help with the local production of nose masks which are washable and reusable.”
On his authority the need for the local production became necessary because of the global shortages of masks. “Nose masks, gloves and some Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) remain a challenge for us. There is a global shortage and I believe the local production will help us a lot.”
The Director General went on to advise all Ghanaians to get and use nose masks whenever they are leaving their homes and especially if they show flu like symptoms.
