Women are usually called the weaker vessels but when season one winner of ‘Live inside and win the ride’ (LIWTR), Sarah Ayim shared how she won the brand new Renault Logan Saloon car, she proved the old adage wrong.
She told host of e. TV Ghana’s ‘African Women’s Voices’, Nosisa Doe about how transporting herself to and from modelling gigs was a hectic task.
‘’In my modelling career, I constantly needed transportation to and from my photo sessions. And usually some of those shoots go into the night and I always had to share rides with friends who drop me off at their convenience, leaving me stranded on the road sometimes. I needed a car and that was motivation enough to compete in LIWTR. Fortunately, the audition was very simple’’ she reminisced.
She recounted how she battled the men to win the car.
‘’I faced a lot of challenges but I told myself this was my space and I had to fight to keep my dignity and still win.’’
“On endurance which is one of the tenets of the competition, she said it wasn’t easy at all. But she spent her break time in what she calls ‘catching the sun’ which allowed her to endure sitting cramped up in a car for forty days.”
She battled it out with four other contenders-Abdul Malik Jaberl, Setor Jinadu, Vittor Faustinus Komla and Ernestina Fiah for forty days in the car of which she emerged victorious.
Sarah is the first woman to win the LIWTR reality show in West Africa after contesting with three men and a lady and enduring for 40days in the car. She got a lot of morale support from her family and friends
