Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin urges the Electoral Commission (EC) to develop a contingency plan to address the challenges hindering the limited voter registration exercise
The registration exercise has been fraught with difficulties, leading to many individuals being unable to register.
Following a visit to a registration centre, he stressed the importance of a backup plan to ensure all eligible voters can register before the deadline, meeting public expectations and preventing disenfranchisement
“The Electoral Commission needs to enhance its registration system to prevent recurrent issues like network failures, which threaten to derail the timeline. The persistent delays and frustrations require immediate attention. I urge the EC to implement a reliable backup system to mitigate these challenges and meet public expectations,” he said
