Head Pastor, Destiny Cathedral, Achimota of Action Chapel International, Reverend Bright Offei Ofori, has shared lessons Christians must remember and live with as they celebrate the Easter season.
According to him, Christ’s death on the cross was the ultimate sacrifice, setting the precedence for Christians and highlighting the importance of living a sacrificial life.
He explained that Christ suffered extreme shame and humiliation on the cross and endured it all, regardless of having the power to make it all end. “Christ went through shame. He was hanged naked on the cross, was put to shame and spat upon. He could’ve asked God to save Him but he didn’t. If he was able to survive this shame, we can also do it.”
Following the steps of Christ is the ultimate goal of Christianity, and the most prominent virtue of Christ is His humility.
“Easter also teaches us to follow the steps of Christ. Although He is equal to God He is still humble. Easter teaches us to be humble always.”
Sharing these insights in an interview with Samuel Eshun on the Happy Morning Show, Reverend Offei Ofori described Easter as a period of love. “Christ shed his blood for us and it takes only love for one to do this. Let us live in love and let it lead in all circumstances.”
He charged the church to defend the faith no matter what, and also be receptive of all people regardless of race and origin.
