Coach Christopher Nimley, has said that Black Meteors goalkeeper, Kwame Baah deserves a Black Stars call-up following his brilliant performance in Ghana’s game against Egypt in the U-23 AFCON tournament.
Ghana threw away a two-goal lead as Egypt came from behind to win the game by 3-2 in Group A’s match day two at the Cairo International Sports Stadium.
According to Christopher Ninmeley, Baah was outstanding as he prevented the Meteors from conceding a lot of goals in the game.
Analyzing the game via phone on Anopa Bosuo Sports on Happy FM, he said, “Kwame Baah is a good goalkeeper and tactically he understands the game”.
“He needs a Black Stars call-up. Our goalkeeper made seven saves within five minutes which was unprecedented. He faked injuries to slow the game down. He should be given a call-up in our next game”.
Nimley added that Ghana lost the game because they couldn’t defend well.
“We didn’t defend well against Egypt”.
“We had to defend like 15 minutes after scoring the second goal. We were defending too deep even inside the six-yard line. It was not accepted at all”.
“As long as we keep defending deep like that we were going to concede. The coach should has just told them to come out, we needed to step out”.
Ghana must win against Mali in the final group game on Thursday to progress to the semi final.
