A 37 year old man identified as Nowell Gavu, accused of causing damage to the “Big Six” statues at Airport Roundabout’s case has been adjourned to December 17, 2024.

Police investigations suggest that the accused showed some abnormal behavior and had also stopped taking medication prescribed for him.

The police found out that, there were inconsistencies in the accused’s initial statement where he claimed that some spirits ordered him to destroy the statues in his dream.

The Court in its hearing, adjourned the case waiting for further details of a comprehensive medical report in their next sitting after the accused’s mental status was scanned.

The accused is currently facing charges of allegedly causing damage to the “Big Six” statues on August 31, 2024.

The complainant who saw the accused destroying the statues with Hammer lodged a complaint to the police that led to his arrest.
