The Deputy Organizer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mahdi Jibril has underscored that the decision by the suspended General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to go to court was to vindicate the ex-president John Dramani Mahama over the NPP’s corruption allegations.
According to him, Kwabena Agyepong’s decision to drag the Ashanti Regional chairman of the party Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as ‘Wontumi’ to court over the allegations that he(Agyepong) was bribed by the former president with a Toyota Landcruiser vehicle when was the General Secretary.
He says the court case is good and it will end up vindicating the former president of all the allegations the NPP in opposition leveled against him.
Mahdi Jibril made this comment on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show hosted by Kwame Afrifa Mensah on the Accra-based Happy FM.
He claimed that the suspended general secretary’s decision will end up vindicating the NDC’s administration led by Mahama.
The news on the lips of many in the NPP was that the then sitting president has bribed Kwabena Agyepong with a scholarship for his wife to foment troubles in the then opposition party.
Now these elements in the NPP will be compelled to come and prove their allegations against the ex-president and the embattled party scribe in a court of competent jurisdiction he argued.
