Former Black Stars striker, Prince Tagoe has questioned the decision of coach Otto Addo to make Kudus Mohammed captain in the absence of Thomas Partey when Jordan Ayew was available.
Kudus Mohammed was appointed captain for Ghana’s doubleheader against Sudan in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers after Thomas Partey withdrew from the squad.
The decision according to multiple reports was not handled well by Jordan Ayew and according to Prince Tagoe, Otto Addo could have avoided this needless controversy because the Leicester City striker should have captained the tram and not Kudus.
“You can’t give the captaincy to Kudus when Jordan is present in the team. You don’t do that. Kudus is a very good player, but you need to be patient and allow his time to come before you give him the captaincy.”
“When you do it at the right time, you will feel the impact and he will feel well. The confusion in the team takes its root from all those things and it’s the major problem we must tackle. We must look at the captaincy issue”.
