Asante Kotoko coach, Maxwell Konadu has confirmed to Ghana’s number one sports station Happy FM, that he will be working with Abdulai Gazale as his first assistant coach.
Konadu was appointed as the head coach of Asante Kotoko on Monday after both parties agreed to a two-year deal.
The former assistant coach of the Black Stars told Odi Asempa Oware of Happy FM that he will be working with Abdulai who holds a CAF License A certificate.
“For now I will be coming with only one person. I am not going to sack anybody. Abdulai Gazale will be the person I bring on board. We need a lot of people to do the work and we will need the support of everyone”, on Anopa Bosuo Sports on Happy FM.
Abdullah is expected to hold the position as first assistant coach due to his qualification.
Konadu will also have Johnson Smith as his assistant at the club. Johnson Smith holds a CAF License B certificate and will be the second assistant coach.
Maxwell Konadu has been tasked to win the Ghana Premier League and qualify to the group stage of the CAF Champions League in the next two seasons.
Speaking on the targets set by the club he said, “The target set are difficult and that will be used to measure or grade my work”.
Maxwell Konadu’s first game in charge of the club will be against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in the President Cup game to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday 15 December, 2019.
He will be unveiled to the public on Wednesday 11 December, 2019 at the team’s training ground at Adako Jachie.
