Kotoko and Hearts of Oak release joint statement over Pooley’s death demanding reforms

Ghanaian giants, Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have jointly released a statement calling for reforms in the Ghana Premier League following the death of Nana Pooley in Nsoatre.

According to the joint statement, the two clubs announced that they will be proposing reforms to the Ghana Football Association to secure fan safety.

 

They emphasized the need for collaboration with the GFA, government, and other stakeholders to ensure football venues are safe for all.

Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko will also be meeting the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association on February 6, 2025.

Nana Pooley was murdered on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Nana Konamansah Park during Nsoatreman and Asante Kotoko’s Ghana Premier League match.
