Management of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital is expected to halt acceptance of corpses for six weeks.
According to them, the hospital is undertaking a refurbishment of its cold room facilities to improve service delivery.
In their statement dated February 3, 2025, the Hospital indicated that they will be unable to accept fresh bodies or Brought-in-dead bodies (BID) cases during that period.
However, the restriction does not apply to cases originating from the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
“The refurbishment is expected to be completed within six weeks. Therefore, we kindly urge bereaved families with deceased relatives who have been in the mortuary for three to six weeks or longer to make immediate arrangements for burial or transfer to alternative facilities”.
