Koku Nanegbe condemns NDC protest against President Mahama’s appointees

National Communication Team Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Mawuli Nanegbe has condemned the protest by NDC supporters against the appointment of some nominees.

On Monday, January 27, NDC youth in the Greater Accra Region gathered at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) headquarters to protest the appointment of Anthony Sarpong as GRA Commissioner.

In an interview with Kwadwo Sefah-Danquah on Happy 98.9FM’s Epa Hoa Daben show, Nanegbe expressed disapproval of the protest, asserting that President John Dramani Mahama has carefully selected individuals who support his agenda to reset Ghana. He firmly believes the appointed nominees are capable of delivering results.

Nanegbe questioned the basis of the protest, asking why the supporters felt Mr. Sarpong was unqualified. He noted that Sarpong’s experience at KPMG and his support for the party’s campaign in the Central Region ahead of the 2024 elections make him well-suited for the role. According to Nanegbe, President Mahama has thoroughly assessed Sarpong’s potential and knows he can deliver.

He urged all supporters to rally behind President Mahama and his administration, emphasizing that unity is essential for moving forward, rather than engaging in divisive actions.
