Outspoken Ghanaian politician and Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has said, to do what he is known for which is firebrand activism one has to give up his or her worldly possessions and follow the cause.
He made these comments when he was speaking in an interview with Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah, host of ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ on Happy 98.9FM. Relying on Mathew 19:21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me”, he said.
‘’Not everyone can do what I do, it takes some level of resilience and tenacity. Like Jesus said to Peter, you need to give up worldly attractions to do what I do. You also need wealth, because without money you cannot fight. You are likely to make enemies and even lose your job. You have to be generous, I share the little I have with the vulnerable in society’’.
Responding to the calls by a cross section of Ghanaians that they are hungry and hence the lockdown should be lifted, which consequently led to the President of Ghana, Nana Addo lifting the partial lockdown, he said:
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, but lose his soul?”
It can be recalled that the MP for Assin Central was seen in a video circulating on social media where he listed names of different ladies that he claimed Bishop Obinim had committed aldultery with.
