Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei, former member of parliament for Tafo Pankrono in Kumasi and advisor to the president on the economy, has died.

His demise occurred on Monday, March 20, according to sources.

He died at age 64.

Anthony Akoto Osei is a Ghanaian banker and politician.

Anthony Akoto Osei was in the cabinet of President John Agyekum Kufuor as Minister of State for Finance and Economic Planning.
He was a member of Parliament for Old Tafo in the Ashanti region; a position he left in 2020.

In May 2017, President Nana Akufo-Addo named Anthony Akoto Osei as part of the nineteen ministers who would form his cabinet. 

As a Cabinet minister, Anthony Akoto Osei was part of the inner circle of the president and aided in key decision-making processes in the country.
