The judge overseeing the Kasoa ritual case has ordered the transfer of the second accused, Nicholas Kini, from police custody to Nsawam Prison.

Kini, 18, is on trial alongside 15-year-old Felix Nyarko for the alleged murder of 10-year-old Ishmael Abdallah in 2021. Both have been held in police custody since their arrest.

However, the second accused has reportedly been moved between various police stations in Accra, including Nima, Ministries, Cantonment, and Osu.

The investigator in the case disclosed that the accused frequently engages in fights with other inmates.

In court on Monday, the prosecution informed the judge that the Osu Police Station, where Nicholas Kini is currently held, has indicated they will not accept him back into their custody.

The prosecution requested the court to issue a trial warrant to transfer the accused, Nicholas Kini, to prison custody instead.

Nicholas Kini denied these allegations, and his lawyer, while acknowledging this information for the first time, asked the court to caution his client instead.

Justice Lydia Osei Marfo, however, ordered that the accused be transferred to Nsawam Prison and be brought to court as needed.
