Ghanaian renowned actor now politician John Dumelo, has picked up forms to contest the parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ayawaso West Wuogon.
Three other persons have also picked up nomination forms to contest in the by-election which has been necessitated by the death of the NPP MP, Emmanuel Kyeremanten Agyarko.
According to the Chairman of the NDC in the Ayawaso Constituency, Bismarck Aborbi Aryeetey, Mr Dumelo, Delali Kwasi Brempong, the 2016 parliamentary candidate for the constituency and John Acquah and one Ewenam have picked the forms.
“Currently, four people have picked nomination forms. Our former DCE who contested in 2016, Delali Kwasi Brempong, and we have John Acquah and John Dumelo. I am told one gentleman called Ewenam has also picked a form,” he said.
The cost of nominations forms and filing fees is GH¢1,000 and GH¢10,000 respectively, with a 50 per cent discount on the filing fees for women and persons with disability.

The deadline for filing of nomination forms is Friday, December 21, 2018, whereas vetting will come off on Saturday, December 22, 2018.

John Dumelo has for the past years been a strong supporter and member of the National Democratic Congress, and has publicly shown this in his activities on campaign platforms and social media.
