Joe Nana Adarkwa, the head coach of Ampem Darkoa Ladies, is confident in his team’s ability to secure victory over AS FAR Rabat in the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League.
The champions from Ghana are set to face Morocco’s AS FAR in their opening group match at the Stade de Laurent Pokou in San Pedro on Monday, with the kickoff scheduled for 5 pm.
Despite being pitted against the 2022 champions, Adarkwa remains optimistic about his team’s chances.
“We came here with the clear intention of winning the cup. Our preparations are progressing smoothly, and we are fully prepared for the tournament.
We will be facing two teams with national team players, making it a challenging game. We will strategize and work hard in our training sessions. In Sha Allah, we are confident in our ability to secure the victory.”
The third edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League began over the weekend, and Ampem Darkoa Ladies have become the second Ghanaian team to participate in the final tournament, following Hasaacas Ladies’ second-place finish in the inaugural edition in 2021.
