The Deputy IT Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Forson, has expressed deep regret over the party’s loss in the 2024 presidential election, stating that it is unfortunate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was unable to secure victory.
Speaking on Happy98.9FM’s Epa Hoa Daben show with Isaac Addae, Mr. Forson highlighted that the former Vice President and NPP’s 2024 Presidential candidate had several developmental initiatives aimed at transforming the country but Ghanaians would miss out on these policies due to the party’s defeat.
He described the loss as painful and disappointing, noting that many citizens had placed their hopes in Dr. Bawumia to implement policies that could drive national progress. However, he expressed optimism that President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would consider adopting some of Bawumia’s key policy proposals.
Mr. Forson cited an example from the vetting of ministerial nominees, where Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa indicated that under his leadership, Ghanaians would no longer need to visit passport offices to register for passports if they possess a Ghana Card.
He pointed out that this was originally one of Dr. Bawumia’s proposed policies and expressed hope that the new administration would implement it for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
