Internet services to be fully restored in five weeks- NCA projects

The National Communications Authority (NCA) has stated that a minimum of five weeks will be necessary for the full restoration of internet connections across the country.

Since Thursday, March 14, 2024, disruptions in Mobile Network Operations have occurred due to undersea fiber optic cable cuts, essential for internet connectivity in Ghana.

These interruptions have deprived many Ghanaians of internet access.

NCA revealed in a statement that it held a meeting on Saturday, March 16, involving all subsea cable landing service providers and the three impacted mobile operators.

At this meeting, it was disclosed that the service providers have remotely pinpointed the approximate locations of the damage and are deploying repair vessels to those areas.

The NCA also revealed that restoring full connectivity is expected to take at least five weeks.

It reassured the public of its commitment to ongoing collaboration with relevant stakeholders to ensure the repair work is completed promptly.
