Nana Appiah Mensah, CEO of embattled gold dealership Menzgold has rubbished claims that he is a fraud businessman.
Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM1, noted that he is rather an entrepreneur focused on helping society.
Addressing the press on Monday, in Accra, NAM 1 asserted “My willingness to be misunderstood is the basis for the many criticisms and the exercise of brute force and skewed media reportage witnessed against our outfit in the last 12 months.”
“I am an entrepreneur and I remain as such,” the embattled CEO of Menzgold stressed.
Mr. Mensah was granted bail by Ghana Police on Tuesday, August 6 after he met his reviewed bail conditions.
He is currently facing 13 counts of defrauding by false pretenses, money laundering, abetment and carrying on deposit-taking business without license contrary to Section 6 (1) of the Banks and Specialised Deposit-taking Institutions Act.
The Menzgold CEO has been accused of defrauding about 16,000 customers of about ¢1.68 billion.
