Algerian boxer, Khelif Imani has reacted to reports claiming that she is a transgender athlete who is competing against women.

Reports went viral after Italy’s Angela Carini abandoned her fight against Imane after just 46 seconds as she couldn’t handle the two punches she received from the Algerian.

This led to a section of the sporting world calling on the International Olympic Committee to disqualify the Algerian because she was born a man and cannot be allowed to compete against women.

However, other reports came out that she is not a transgender but has a higher testosterone with XY chromosomes.

Reacting to this, the Algerian has stated that she is born a female and not a transgender.

“I’m a female,” Khelif Imani responded to the question about her gender as quoted by Fox News.
