The Inspector General of Police, Dr. Akuffo Dampare has expressed satisfaction with the extent of work done collaboratively by key stakeholders ahead of the December 2024 polls.
According to the IGP, the minimal tension experienced in Ghana with the conduct of campaigns by political parties can be attributed to the roles played by the media, civil society, security agencies and election management bodies.
Speaking during a meeting with Editors of selected media houses in Ghana, the IGP shared his satisfaction of the work done so far and admonished that these efforts should be sustained until the end of the elections.
He particularly singled out the work of the media and appealed that the media helps in combatting disinformation before, during and after the elections.
