The Member of Parliament for Techiman South, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah has criticized the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) for making several mistakes since assuming power.
His comments come after the government issued a directive to revoke all appointments made after December 7, 2024. Mr. Korsah pointed out that one of the NDC’s major mistakes in Mahama’s second term is the dismissal of over 25,000 workers.
Highlighting the NDC’s claims that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had sacked around 13,000 workers during its tenure, he argued that there is no concrete evidence to support these claims. While Osafo Marfo had proposed the move, Korsah noted that the NPP never followed through with it.
Mr. Korsah emphasized that Ghanaians voted for the NDC to bring about a reset of the country, and if the previous government made mistakes, the public expects the NDC not to repeat them.
He further argued that the NPP has a strategic advantage over the NDC if they plan well. With Mahama only serving a four-year term, and only two and a half years left of his presidency giving that he can’t use his last one year for anything, Korsah believes that the NDC will be forced to present a new candidate for the 2028 elections.
This shift could bring about significant changes within the party, giving the NPP a clear path to victory if they position themselves well.
