Dr. Bawumia slams NDC's '24-Hour economy plan as ambiguous

Vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has responded to calls for him to implement his ideas now that he is still the second in command and his party controls the Jubilee House.

According to the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party, there wouldn’t be much for him to do when he is voted into power if he decides to implement his policies now.

Dr. Bawumia said it is not possible to do everything now because even president Mahama who was once the country’s leader couldn’t do everything, that is why “he is coming back despite having the full authority”.

“The other issue was about my tax reforms and the question was why can’t I do it now? I must have a manifesto otherwise if I do everything now what will I do if I come into office? How can you do everything now?”

“Even president Mahama who was once the president couldn’t do everything and that is why he wants to come back even though he had full authority. I don’t have full authority because the budget that goes to Parliament goes in the name of the President and not the Vice president,” Dr. Bawumia said at his media engagement on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
