If Hearts of Oak and Olympics are relegated, the Ghana Premier League will lose its value! – Former Asante Kotoko forward

2023 Homowo Charity Cup: Hearts of Oak to lock horns with Great Olympics on August 20

Former Asante Kotoko player Stephen Manu believes the Ghana Premier League (GPL) will “lose its value” if either Hearts of Oak or Great Olympics are relegated.

In an interview on Happy Sports’ special “Where Are They?” segment, the former BA United Star expressed his concern about the potential relegation of either club.

“It won’t be good for the Ghana Premier League if Hearts of Oak gets relegated.Hearts is one of the biggest teams in Ghana. We are praying both Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics do not get relegated. If they do, the league is finished,” he emphasized.

The two Accra rivals played out a tense goalless draw on Sunday, leaving them both precariously placed on the relegation zone table.

Both teams face crucial matches on the final day of the season, with Hearts of Oak needing a win against Bechem United and Great Olympics requiring victory over Real Tamale United to secure their top-flight status.

Relegation for either club would be a significant blow to the league, potentially diminishing its competitiveness and fan base.

Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics will be hoping to avoid the drop when the GPL season concludes next weekend.
