Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has strongly criticized Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin over claims regarding a National Security search at the residence of former Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison.
Afenyo-Markin alleged that during the operation, security personnel stole personal belongings, including jewelry and money, belonging to Addison’s wife.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, March 24, 2025, Dr. Ayine dismissed these accusations as unfounded and described them as an “insult to the security service.”
He revealed that they have a recording of Dr. Addison detailing his account of the raid. He warned that if Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin challenges him, he will make the recording public.
“Ladies and gentlemen of the media, let me tell you that we have the recording of Addison and what he said about the raid. So if the honorable Minority Leader is daring me I will make such recordings available,” he said.
He reassured the public that the investigation was conducted with integrity and in the best interest of the nation.
