Ablakwa promises increased stipends for Ghanaian students abroad

Minister designate for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has pledged to deliver on his mandate as the Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs.

Reacting to his nomination as the Foreign Affairs Minister designate on his official Facebook page, the North Tongu legislator, Mr. Ablakwa thanked President John Dramani Mahama for the nomination, as he promised to diligently work to assist him in championing Ghana’s best interest at all times.

Mr. Ablakwa stated that, he will deliver with unquestionable patriotism, innovation and integrity.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is a four-term Ghanaian legislator representing the people of North Tongu in the Volta Region.

For nearly eight years in parliament, he has served as a Ranking Member of the select committee on Foreign Affairs, where he rose to become the first Chairman of the reformed Assurances Committee.

In 2009, he was appointed Deputy Minister for Information by President John Evans Atta Mills, he was also a Deputy Minister for Education in charge of Tertiary Education in 2013.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa’s academic credentials include reading Political Science, Philosophy and Economics for his first degree at the University of Ghana, an LLB from the University of London, an MSc. in Defence and International Politics from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, an MA in Communications and PR from the University of Leicester and an Executive Certificate in Leadership from the Harvard Kennedy School of Governance.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is currently the Chairman of President John Mahama’s flagship anti-corruption drive, Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL).

I am enormously thankful to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama for nominating me to serve as Ghana’s Foreign Minister.

My solemn pledge is to diligently assist President Mahama in championing Ghana’s best interest at all times, with unquestionable patriotism, innovation and integrity.

Immense gratitude to my family, North Tongu, NDC, and all amazing Ghanaians for the incredible support throughout the years.

I won’t let you down.
