Ghanaian Boxer, Patrick Allotey in an interview on Happy Sports says he pleads with the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) not to revoke his license after he assaulted a fan of Asante Kotoko in Sunday’s Super Clash against Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Allotey had a tussle with the supporter by name Matthew Siaw and ended up injuring him.
According to a member of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Alhaji Tophic, the Boxing rules states that a boxer is not supposed to fight outside the ring irrespective of the level of provocation. Failure to do so will lead to his license been revoked.
Patrick Allotey after the incident has shown remorse and pleaded with Ghanaians over that unprofessional act exhibited.
“Yes I admit I did hurt him, but I am very sorry. I was provoked and I should have been calm. I can’t defend myself over this, all I say is I am sorry. My managers have been there already to plead on my behalf and I will be there tomorrow to do same”,he told Happy Sports.
“I will also plead with the GBA not to revoke my license”, he ended.
