Award-winning highlife artiste/Rapper Okyeame Kwame has said boldly that he will never contest for the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) President.

According to the ‘Made in Ghana’ hitmaker, he does not want his image to be tarnished because subsequent leaders of MUSIGA have been described by some section of industry players as corrupt and moreover his family is against it.

Speaking on Happy FM’s Ayekoo after drive show with DJ Advicer, Okyeame Kwame said  ‘’I appreciate the fact that people want me to contest for MUSIGA president but my family members are against it. I believe in myself and I can work very well as MUSIGA president. If you win, people will start to tag you as a thief because of its political dispensation.”

Okyeame Kwame popularly called Ghana’s ‘Rap Dacta’ also asserted that even Ghana’s first president [Kwame Nkrumah] who did not build a single house for himself as president was even tagged as corrupt. So, there is no way he will lace his boot to contest for MUSIGA president.

It can be recall that Rapper Flowking Stone cautioned his brother and fellow artiste, [Okyeame Kwame] not to vie for the position of MUSIGA President.

Flowking Stone states that though he will be happy to see his brother take up leadership roles, positions such as MUSIGA President and Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) President but it might tarnish his reputation.

Okyeame Kwame is currently promoting his new single dubbed made in Ghana.
