The National Third Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Masawudu Osman, has issued a strong caution to operatives of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), warning that any attempt to raid his residence without a valid court warrant will be met with resolute resistance.
In an interview, Alhaji Osman voiced deep concern over what he described as a disturbing rise in unauthorized raids and acts of intimidation by individuals allegedly acting under the guise of national security.
He alleged that such activities, which he suspects are targeted at political opponents, threaten the core tenets of Ghana’s democratic framework.
“If these unlawful raids are not halted, I will consider those involved as criminals or armed robbers intending to harm me. I swear to God, I will not hesitate to defend myself, I will kill anyone who tries to raid my house unlawfully,” he stated emphatically.
His remarks were a reaction to what he characterized as politically driven harassment, particularly the targeting of residences belonging to opposition members. Osman emphasized that these actions flout legal procedures and infringe upon citizens’ civil liberties.
Additionally, he accused the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of either endorsing or playing a role in these “ungodly actions,” urging the party to desist from what he views as a dangerous political tactic.
