The Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Richard Kofi Asiedu, has pledged to do everything within his power to secure the Cape Coast North parliamentary seat for his party in the upcoming December 2024 elections.
Speaking at the constituency’s campaign launch, Professor Asiedu expressed his unwavering commitment to the cause, declaring, “I am ready to die for this constituency to retain the seat for NDC”.
He assured party members and supporters, stressing that the NDC is fully prepared to challenge the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with determination and strength in the elections.
He expressed his support for the re-election of the incumbent NDC MP, Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku, and took aim at the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for Cape Coast North, Ekow Horace Ewusi, accusing him of lacking credibility.
“The NPP candidate, Ekow Horace Ewusi, has a history with the galamsey excavators. How can someone with such baggage represent Cape Coast North? We will not allow it” he said.
Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku, the sitting MP, used his campaign launch to highlight the achievements in his first term.
He emphasized several community projects, such as providing furniture, educational materials, scholarships, and supporting local businesses.
Dr. Nyarku also emphasized how 65% of the NDC’s manifesto is dedicated to tackling youth unemployment and improving livelihoods, urging constituents to vote for both him and NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.
