Aduana Stars forward Yahaya Mohammed, says he will be the first person to accept a pay cut at if the team decides to reduce the salaries of players due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The effect of the coronavirus pandemic has affected clubs financially across the globe and there has been talks for players to accept a pay cut amid the ongoing crisis.

Yahaya Mohammed in an interview stated that if team owners are able to dialogue with players on why it is necessary to reduce the salaries of players amid the coronavirus pandemic, players are likely to agree to the motion and accept the pay cut.

“At Aduana Stars the pay cut has not been initiated. I have played three seasons and if it happens I will understand because this is the time they also need my help. I will be the first person to accept the pay cut at Aduana Stars if the need arises”, he told Happy FM.

“We cannot compare what is happening in Europe to Ghana because over there they are forcing the players because the players have individual sponsorships so it will not affect them when their salaries are reduced. The team owners must just dialogue with the players so they agree to it temporarily”, he added.

Yahaya Mohammed advised players to improve upon their skills and train at home during this period so they can maintain their form before the league resumes.
