The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has expressed his anticipation for a future celebration of the 31st December Revolution alongside the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking at the anniversary event on Tuesday, December 31, Mr. Kwetey emphasized the importance of viewing the revolution as a national heritage, rather than a divisive political issue.
He criticized the tendency to portray one party as full of angels and the other as full of devils, urging unity and the recognition that many people who have held key positions in both parties share common values. He pointed out that President J.E. Kufuor, a prominent figure in the NPP, was part of the government that supported the revolution, and several individuals from the NPP still uphold its principles today.
He called for the celebration of the revolution to transcend political divides, becoming a symbol of national unity.
