Ghanaian female musician, Francisca Gawugah, popularly known as Sista Afia has revealed that her work in the music industry has never been recognized by the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Speaking in an interview with Happy FM’s Doctar Cann on the Showbiz Xtra show aired on Saturdays, she disclosed: “I have filed for awards at the VGMA before. But for the past four years, I have never been nominated for the VGMA awards”.
She, however, expressed her hope that she will get a nomination in this year’s VGMA awards scheme. “This year my management have filed for the awards. I have hope this year”, she said.
When quizzed about the categories her management filed for, she stated she was not aware of the categories she was going to compete in. She explained: “I am not aware of the category I have filed for, because over the years, I have not been nominated in these awards scheme. Thus, I don’t give too much attention to it”.
Sista Afia is currently promoting her new song dubbed ‘Paper” which features Nigeria’s Victor AD who is known for his song ‘Wetin We Gain’.
