The newly appointed Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), Michael Harry Yamson, has assured Ghanaians of his capability to effectively oversee the fund, drawing on his extensive experience in managing significantly larger budgets.
Addressing the Appointments Committee of Parliament during his vetting on Thursday, March 20, 2025, Yamson highlighted his strong background in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and telecommunications sectors as evidence of his readiness for the role.
“I have tremendous experience. I have managed budgets three times the size of this fund and done so successfully”.
He further elaborated on his qualifications, stating, “In one of my roles, I was responsible for managing a budget that amounted to one and a half billion euros, which in today’s terms is about 18 billion cedis.”
Yamson emphasized that his expertise, combined with support from a competent team and the Ministry, positioned him well to deliver on his mandate.
“I have a wonderful team at the DACF, the ministry, and my brother the Minister assures me of his support, and so I am extremely confident that in addition to all of this and with the guidance of the House, there is no way I will fail at the DACF”.
