I don’t get my daily bread from Black Stars – Andre Ayew

The stadium is great but fix the pitch – Black Stars captain Andre Ayew calls on govt

Black Stars captain, Andre Dede Ayew has said that playing for the Ghana national team is simply for pride and has nothing to do with monetary gains.

According to Andre Ayew, playing for the national team is a fulfillment for himself and his entire family as they are so deeply invested in football and doesn’t take that opportunity for granted.

The Le Herve forward said he doesn’t get his daily bread playing in the national team so the narrative that he wears the Black Stars jersey for monetary gains is not true.

“The national team is so important to my life, my family’s life. Our life, my family is about the game and from this country, not from anywhere else. So when we know we have to wear this jersey, for me, it’s all about sacrifices.”

“I don’t gain my bread, my family’s living wearing the national team colours. I wear these national colours with pride and honour,” Andre Ayew said.
