NPP Parliamentary Candidate hopeful for the Wenchi Constituency, Alfred Ofori Annye has disclosed that he is not moved by any strategy used by other competitors in pursuit of the parliamentary seat.
In an interview on Happy 98.9FM’s Epa Hoa Daben show with host Sefah-Danquah, Mr. Annye noted that many individuals tend to make excessive noise to pass a test for vibrancy and see that as a way to gain attention.
“Thriving in politics requires power; it’s not for noise makers; In politics you need to be seen as one who solves problems; go to the grounds, solve the problem and get power; we get the power from the grounds.” he said.
“You can’t force the votes out of the person; its not by force. You have to focus on the mindset the person has about you; the person would vote based on that mindset about you.”
According to him, his experiences as a Regional Secretary and Regional Youth Organizer for the Bono Ahafo region made him encounter diverse issues that have prepared him for any threats that could emerge any day before the next parliamentary election.
He however, lamented the discord which was brooding within the party during the previous parliamentary election in 2020, which he said, caused the party to lose a lot of votes.
Nonetheless, he is confident that the NPP is poised to work together for assured victory in the next general elections. He revealed that he has commenced a rallying exercise which is geared towards unity and togetherness in the NPP.
He noted that this will be the stepping stone to sure victory. “You see, we have to be unified and we have to work together; When I become the candidate, getting sufficient votes to beat the opposition would not be a difficult thing because I have rallied the party delegates to work together for victory.” he explained.
