Former Ghana Football Association Vice president, George Afriyie has welcome the appointment of Kofi Adams as the Minister Designate for Sports and Recreation.
Kofi Adams, a Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency in the Oti Region was nominated by president John Dramani Mahama for the Sports Ministry on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
Reacting to concerns raised about Kofi Adam’s experience in sports, George Afriyie has said that he believes in the wisdom of president John Dramani Mahama and will not criticized his appointment.
“The president has appointed a Minister and I strongly believe that he has selected somebody that he believes can do the job and all I can do as a club administrator is to offer my support to the person who has been appointed.”
George Afriyie added that it will be unfair on his part to criticize the appointment even before Kofi Adams assumes office.
“I cannot be criticizing the person who has been appointed right away. I can’t do that because I believe the president did a proper consultation before appointing Kofi Adams so it will be too early for me to judge him.”
