I am still standing because of the Asante spirit in me- Alan Kyerematen

Founder and Leader of the Movement for Change, Alan Kyerematen has attributed his resilience in the political arena to the indomitable spirit of the Asante people, declaring that his unwavering resolve comes from the rich heritage of the Asante Kingdom.

According to him, this spirit has guided him through every challenge, fueling his ambition to lead Ghana through his Great Transformational Plan (GTP).

His comments were made during the Afrafranto Mega Victory Walk, which drew a massive crowd to Kumasi on October 19, 2024, marking the end of his Caravan Campaign Tour in the Ashanti Region.

The event saw thousands of enthusiastic supporters, predominantly youth, rallying behind Kyerematen in a show of strength and unity. Starting from the historic Kumasi Culture Centre, which holds personal significance as it was built by his father, the walk concluded at the Kumasi City Mall. Political analysts have already dubbed it the largest political walk in Ghana’s history, underscoring the grassroots momentum behind Kyerematen’s presidential bid.

Traditional authorities, including the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, played a pivotal role in the walk’s success, with several chiefs publicly endorsing Kyerematen’s candidacy during his regional tour. These endorsements, from influential figures such as the Ejisumanhene, Adansehene, and Offinsomanhene, have solidified his standing in the race. The overwhelming support from the region, coupled with traditional blessings, has positioned Kyerematen as a formidable contender ahead of the 2024 elections.

Mr. Kyerematen expressed deep gratitude to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for his blessings and trust in his Great Transformational Plan. He also thanked the people of the Ashanti Region for their steadfast love and support throughout his journey.

With confidence, he affirmed that with the favor of the Almighty God, the backing of the Asantehene, and the unwavering support of the people, victory is within sight.
