Highlife has taken a different shape in the industry but it is not showing any signs of going off anytime soon.Highlife artiste Ofori Amponsah has asserted.
The ‘Otoolege’ singer on Ayeko After Drive show on Happy FM said: “highlife is not dead, new artistes like Kuami Eugene, King Promise and others are doing highlife and they are doing it in a new style but its highlife.”
He told DJ Advicer that, highlife is “about performance, highlife sound is in many of the music you hear today.”
Ofori Amponsah in the interview stated the highlife music may not stay exactly the same as before because generations over the years have added their flair to it.
“The music players may change from time to time but highlife remains the basis of every beat behind hit songs,” he added.
Ofori Amponsah is will be performing at the 8th Edition of African Legends Night which will take place on Saturday, September 28th at the Grand Arena Dome, Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
The annual music event will be witnessing two foreign African music greats on the same stage in one night, Awilo Longomba and 2Face. The two will be joined by a Ghanaian music great Mr Music Man, Kojo Antwi and others.
