
Ghana Premier League giants, Accra Hearts of Oak has won the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League trophy after they drew against Liberty Professionals in matchday 33 of the league at the Accra Sports Stadium to win the trophy with a game left to end the season.
Hearts of Oak’s Daniel Barnieh scored the first goal of the encounter in first half but it was cancelled by Liberty Professionals’ Kwame Paul with three minutes left to end the game.
The 2000 CAF Champions League winner will be making a return to the CAF competition for the first time in a decade.
The Phobians have not qualified for the CAF Champions League since 2006. They were supposed to participate in 2010 after winning the 2008/2009 Ghana Premier League but they decline.
The last time they played in Africa was in 2015.
They will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League whilst the winner of the on going MTN FA Cup will represent Ghana in the CAF Confederations Cup.
